  • Travel Distance: Approximately 200 km from Rishikesh or 230 km from Dehradun
  • Travel Time: 8–10 hours by road
  • Route: Rishikesh/Dehradun – Devprayag – Rudraprayag – Ukhimath – Chopta
  • Highlights: The drive to Chopta is scenic, passing through beautiful river valleys and villages. Chopta is a serene base known as the “Mini Switzerland of India” due to its lush meadows and evergreen forests.
  • Stay: Overnight camping or guesthouse stay in Chopta.
  • Trek Distance: 5 km (3.5 km to Tungnath, 1.5 km further to Chandrashila)
  • Trek Time: 4–6 hours (round trip)
  • Route Details: Start early from Chopta. The trail to Tungnath is well-paved, gradually ascending through lush forests of pine, rhododendron, and oak. Reach Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world at an altitude of 12,073 feet.
  • Highlights: After visiting Tungnath Temple, continue to the Chandrashila summit (13,123 feet). The steep final ascent rewards you with panoramic views of Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Kedarnath.
  • Stay: Return to Chopta and stay overnight.
  • Optional Activity: Take a short drive to Sari Village (12 km) and hike to Deoria Tal, a beautiful high-altitude lake.
  • Trek Distance: 2.3 km from Sari Village to Deoria Tal
  • Highlights: Deoria Tal offers stunning reflections of Chaukhamba and other peaks in its crystal-clear waters, especially during sunrise and sunset.
  • Stay: Overnight stay in Chopta or Sari.
  • Travel Distance: Approximately 200-230 km
  • Travel Time: 8–10 hours
  • Highlights: Enjoy the scenic drive back, passing through the Garhwal mountains and rivers.
  • Return: Arrive in Rishikesh/Dehradun by evening.
